Redhill Town Football Club Report 27-11-11

Redhill Town U10a 1 – 0 South park u10

Redhill Town U10A saved their best football performance for this weekend to beat South Park U10B 1-0 to go up to third in the table.

Redhill Town U10A played a very safe first half, playing with three defenders to soak up all of South Park's early predictable pressure. Redhill Town had many close chances at goal from Charlie Minter and Haydn Puttick due to some brilliant passing moves, and managed to not concede a goal to go in at half time 0-0.

The second half saw Redhill Town take more chances and really attacked South Park, with another outstanding performance from the two wingers, Luke Stevens and Joshua Jeffery, providing the striker, Zach Layne, a great cross into the penalty area, which he turns on a six-pence, to fire a low shot pass the keeper to put Redhill Town into the lead. Zach Layne went close to scoring again giving the spectaters a great performance with some dangerous solo driving runs from half-way. The goalkeeper, Adam Barber, gave a brilliant display saving everything that was thrown at him, especially in some desperate one on one moments, and managed not to concede a goal to help Redhill Town U10A win 1-0 against South Park U10B in a billiant display of football.

Jamie Duffell made a sparkling debut for Redhill but it was the visitors that took the points in an exciting encounter.

From the left wing, Duffell showed all his dribbling and crossing skills as he set up chances for Gichini and Krisman who volleyed over.

However, it was the visitors that took the lead with a superb strike that gave Town keeper Payne no chance. Despite falling behind, Redhill came back strongly and Duffell's long range strike caught the keeper by surprise to level the scores. The game became end to end but it was Reigate that regained the lead when a right wing cross evaded the home defence leaving the visitors to fire past Payne.

Redhill brought on their subs as they searched for an equaliser and it was no surprise that Duffell was at the heart of their best work. But with Redhill pushing forward, it was the visitors who broke away and scored to take all three points.

Hat-trick hero Stevens spurs on Reds!

Redhill made things difficult for themselves in the first half as, playing into a strong wind, they ignored the manager’s instructions to keep the ball on the deck, and wasted the few chances they did create.

The second half was, characteristically, much better and Redhill kept up sustained pressure on the Pumas goal.  Ryan Stevens opened the scoring with a shot from a tight angle and then turned provider as his corner was headed home by James Smart.

Stevens’ free-kick from just outside the box crept over the line as the Pumas keeper flapped at the ball, and then leading goalscorer Jack Tickner got on the scoresheet as he ran through from the edge of the box to slot home.

Another Steven’s corner found the net courtesy of a Puma’s defender but not to be denied his hat-trick, Stevens netted with a great long-range effort just as the referee was about to blow for full-time.

Redhill Town u13’s 5 – 3 wolves

this match was a top of the table clash redhill 2nrd wolves 3rd both teams had chances in a first half that was a very attacking game of football . with halftime near wolves drew first blood to go 1 -0 up. after a team talk and a reshuffle of subs the players went on for the second half full of hope. it was hard work when a penalty was awarded for a foul in the box wolves scored to make it 2 -0.with 25 minutes to go and heads still high redhill started to produce some good football jake monk full of energy scored to make it 2-1. quickly followed by a lovely chip from daniel silva scores 2-2 ,then connor beesley with a well taken third goal scores 3-2 to redhill. 2nrd half sub samuel watson added a great 4th, but wolves kept on and added a third with 5 mins left. and with confidence high in the team redhill passed the ball around and jake monk found space and time to score his 2nrd and redhills 5th. a great standard of football shown by both teams redhill wish wolves all the best for the season man of the match sam Watson

Redhill U17s were involved in a 4 – 3 thriller against Holland Sport.

Redhill took the lead early on with a goal from Chude Obuaya and were unlucky not to go further ahead with plenty of chances.

Holland Sport came back with a goal from a set piece against the run of play. Connor Johnson resorted the lead just before half time.

Redhill went further ahead with a well taken goal from Matt Walsh. Holland Sport came back strongly and scored two headers to level the game.

Just when it looked like when the win had alluded them Redhill broke forward and showing great determination and skill scored right on full time to seal the win in a 4 – 3 thriller.

 Match reports for Redhill Town  Football Club 3^rd- 4^th December

 Redhill Town U12 Girls   0-7   Molesey Magpies U12

The odds were stacked against the Redhill U12 girls as only 6 players were available to play. Despite this setback the girls battled well against a strong physical Molesey team and even though they had 1 player less the girls still tried to play some passing football. Molesey took the lead after 7 minutes when a corner came across the goal and was fired into the corner at the back post. Jenna Madan in goal made some great saves but Molesey made it 2after 18 minutes. Hannah King and Daniela Fisherova almost combined to get a goal back but the shot was straight at the keeper. Jenna Madan then made a fantastic save on the goal line as Molesey pressed for more. Thea Sangster and Ella Madsen battled in defence to keep them out but Redhill succumbed to a late 3^rd goal just before half time.

In the second half Redhill got some good moves with Eleanor  Sabey, Hannah King and Daniela Fisherova combining to relieve the pressure and made some good runs down the wing, but Molesey were strong and physical in defence. A fourth goal came 5 minutes into the second half, but Redhill continued to pass well and Daniela Fisherova got clean through on goal but seemed to be held back in the penalty area and the chance went. Molesey then fired 2 quick goals and Hannah King almost pulled one back as she got past the last defender but her shot was fractionally wide of the post. Molesey finished the scoring to make it 7-0 but the Redhill girls can be proud of a performance against the odds, when at times they played better football than their more experienced opponents.

Walton Warriors U10B 4 Redhill Town U10B 1

Two own goals contributed to Redhill Town B's 4-1 defeat at Walton Warriors last Saturday.

After an even opening exchange, the home side took the lead when Keeran Kirupakaran's heavy back pass was adjudged to have crossed the line by the referee, despite Redhill's protests - it looked a harsh decision. This spurred the home side on and it wasn't long before they increased their lead when Cripps fired past Payne.

Redhill then had their best spell of the first half and their efforts were rewarded when Duffell's left wing cross was helped on by Gichini to top scorer Sam Krisman who calmly slotted home.

2-1 down at half time, Redhill searched for an equaliser but it was the home side that had the best chances and keeper Ben Payne was tested on a number of occasions.

It was therefore unfortunate when Toby Newland put through his own goal before Fadai netted a late fourth from close range.

Redhill Town U10A ran riot again with a convincing 6-1 victory against Ashtead Colts C.

The match began with Charlie Minter giving Redhill Town an early lead, then Zach Layne smashing home a second goal to go in 2-0 up at half time.
The second half saw Redhill Town step up a gear with alot of great tackling and mid-field play by Charlie Minter and Laimilija Gruodyte. There were many close chances to score by Hadyn Puttick and Luke Stevens, but Joshua Jeffery soon started his amazing dribbling runs to score twice to make it 4-0. Ashtead Colts managed to score a concilation goal to make it 4-1. Due to Redhill Town's main goalkeeper, Adam Barber, being out through illness, Joshua Jeffery and Kane Taylor played a half each in the position, and done their team proud with some excellent saves.
The match was finished off with a goal by Zach Layne and a last superb goal, powered in by Joshua Bayode from another low driven cross by Joshua Jeffery to give Redhill Town a convincing 6-1 victory.

Epsom & Ewell Premier Division – League Match 04/12/2011

South Park U12s 3   Redhill Town U12s 1

Redhill paid the price as they gifted South Park two early goals before they decided to start playing!

After some sustained pressure, South Park took the lead in the 10^th minute when a lobbed shot evaded Louis Tween in the Redhill goal before hitting the post and trickling over the line.  A minute later, a quick South Park short corner took Redhill by surprise, and the ball was tapped in from close range.

A change in formation helped Redhill to get a grip on the game, and in the 22^nd minute a long corner from Ryan Stevens evaded everyone, before ‘Mop’ Lewer pounced to smash the ball into the top left corner.

Once again, Redhill were a different team in the second half and totally dominated the game.  Several chances went begging, and when Jack Tickner powered through in the 50^th minute a Redhill equaliser looked odds-on but his near-post shot went agonisingly wide when the far-post would have been the better option.

A nervous South Park sealed the win with a simple tap-in when a mix-up between defender and goalkeeper gifted their striker an open goal.

Redhill u13s 2 v 0 Mickleham u13s 4th Dec

once again fantastic spirit shown by redhill, with a resaliant mickleham side showing good spirit they held untill just before half time. with more pressure being applied a mistake allowed redhill to go in 1-o up. mickleham pressed and a few attacks were thwarted wih some last ditch defending, with our slender lead at risk redhill dug in and created a chance a through ball played to prasoth kirubakaran scored with a well taken goal. to their credit mickleham pressed but to no avail redhill remain 2 points clear at the top of the table of a hard fought league . goals p kirubakaran 2.team i mirza. g ewbank. t joseph. a humphrey. j ramsay. g jenkins. d silva. t hall. l gichini. t payne. p kirubakaran. j monk. j caplin MAN OF THE MATCH JAKE MONK

Redhill Town FC Weekending 11-12-2011

Redhill Town U9’s   1-2   Epsom & Ewell Colts B

Redhill Town started slowly again in the first half and were under a lot of pressure. Ben Telfer made a good save from a high cross into the area, but he was unable to prevent Epsom & Ewell taking the lead after 10 minutes when the Epsom striker made a good run down the left, cut inside and fired a low shot into the corner. Lukas Fisher and Joshua Beard made 3 great defensive tackles to prevent the score line increasing, but as Redhill struggled to clear their lines under the pressure, Epsom took a 2 goal lead when a cross cut the defence open and the striker had another clear shot at goal which he finished well. A corner for Redhill late in the first half gave them a chance to get a goal back but the shot was wide.

In the second half Redhill came out and played much better and took the game to Epsom & Ewell. Ben Markham and Joshua Bashorun had a great chance to pull a goal back but the keeper saved well both times in quick succession. Joshua Bashorun then got through again only the shot was from a tight angle and didn’t trouble the keeper too much. Soon after another chance went begging as the keeper made a great save just by his post to push the ball wide for a corner, and Joshua Bashorun hit the side netting with another shot. Finally the breakthrough came with 2 minutes to go as Joshua Bashorun got the goal that Redhill deserved with a good finish at the keeper’s near post after a good mazy run down the wing. Redhill pushed for the equaliser but time ran out.

Molesey Magpies   3-0   Redhill Town U12 Girls

Redhill girls faced Molesey for the second time in 2 weeks and while Molesey had a lot of pressure, Redhill made them work very hard for the 3 points. Jenna Madan made a magnificent save low down to her right in the first minute, but was powerless to stop Molesey taking an early lead. Despite the set-back Redhill girls battled heroically with Thea Sangster and Ella Madsen holding firm in defence. Daniela Fisherova almost got a goal but after a long run down the wing the shot went just wide. Jenna Madan then saved a penalty and recovered to get the rebound before the penalty taker could get a second chance as Redhill hung on to half time to go in 1-0 down.

Then second half again saw Redhill under lots of pressure and not helped with Beth Britt had to come off leaving them down to 6 against 7 for the second week running. The team defended heroically but a long shot from outside the box finally put the game out of the girls reach as it flew into the corner of the net. Still Redhill battled and almost pulled a goal back with Hannah King just unable to get the shot off on 2 occasions. Jenna Madan made another great save as she reached up to the top corner to prevent another goal, but as the girls tired Molesey broke late on to seal the win, but it was a fine performance from the Redhill team as they continue to do the club proud.

Epsom & Ewell Premier Division – League Match 11/12/2011

Redhill Town U12s 3   Ashtead Colts 6

Redhill were up against it from the start on a heavy pitch and with several key players missing, but they took the lead in the 6^th minute when Mop Lewer headed home from a corner for his second goal in successive matches.

Ashtead were level within a minute, and they added 2 further goals before half-time as the Redhill defence struggled to cope with the sticky conditions.

Two minutes into the second half, Ashtead extended their lead with a long-range shot beyond the reach of Charlie Case-Green, after the ball was given away cheaply by the Redhill defence.

Redhill got a goal back after a great run down the left by Ryan Stevens, whose cross into the box found Tom Parker to thump home from close range.

Redhill’s defensive weakness was then exposed again as the ball was given straight to an Ashtead player to slot home, but further good work down the left by Stevens fed Olly Rose to net his first goal in a Redhill shirt to make it 3-5.  With Redhill gaining confidence, Rose should have had a penalty when he was clearly pulled back, but unseen by the referee.

Ashtead sealed the win with another long-range effort that dipped beyond the reach of Case-Green as, with no substitutes available, Redhill’s legs began to tire.

Match report for RTFC weekend 19-20^th November

The First Team


Redhill Town FC 3 Wanderers FC 2

Another stirling performance and 3 points in the bag at the weekend against Wanderers FC. A disappointing start conceding early in the game after a free kick 'too easily' gave the home team the lead but the reds kept their heads and deserved to get back into the game. A foul on Jack Caffyn gave town a free kick, Keith Boys-Guest finding the head of Peter Hames who effortlessly headed across goal to a composed Jack Caffyn who left volleyed it in. It would seem Wanderers did not learn from their first mistake and another free kick was given and Keith Boys-Guest again taking charge simplistically inch perfect to the head of Jack Caffyn with a cheeky little tap in. The reds now confident looked comfortable moving forward, 'Captain Jack' flip flapping past Wanderers midfield releasing and then passing through two red shirts laying off for Peter Hames to finish. But Wanderers were in no way 'handing in the towel' after scoring their second goal and looking for a last minute point, a penalty decision went against town leaving a nail biting end to the game, keeper Fabio Dias calmly watching and waiting with no doubt the pressure mounting and as they struck the ball, bottom right hand corner bound, Fabio reacted swiftly and saved on the line.












Redhill U10a 0- 2 Wolves B

Redhill Town U10A fell to their second defeat of the season against Wolves B.

The first half saw a good start from Redhill Town with some great wing-play from Luke Stevens and Joshua Jeffery to assist Haydn Puttick with a great chance at the near post to be saved off the line, and to assist Zach Layne with his fifth goal of the season and put Redhill Town 1-0 up at half time.

Kane Taylor and Joshua Bayode played out of their skins with another great performance in defence, with great tackling and ball control, and Adam Barber made some remarkable saves to keep Redhill Town in the game. Eventually Redhill Town could not hold out with the constant pressure and conceded two goals to lose their second match of the season 2-0.

Epsom & Ewell Youth League Division 7

Redhill Town U10B 2-1 Ashtead Colts U10D 

Redhill Town won a thrilling league encounter at Brambletye last Saturday. Town started positively with Gichini, Balaghee and Krisman all pushing forward, supported admirably by skipper Reuben Newland. Gichini shot wide with just the goalkeeper to beat as he tormented the Ashstead defenders on the left. It therefore came as somewhat of a surprise when the visitors took the lead following a defensive mix-up.

However, Redhill came storming back and were duly awarded a penalty when an opposing defender handled on the line and Reuben Newland stepped up to score to the keepers right. After the break, Redhill came storming forward and were rewarded when Sayon Kirubakaran's long range strike was parried by the keeper leaving Gichini to convert the rebound. Ashstead tried in vain for an equaliser but keeper Ben Payne and defender Toby Newland stood firm to hold out for a well deserved victory.

RTFC u11 2 -1 Ashtead Colts b


Redhill U11s grabbed another three points giving them a much needed boost after a difficult start into their first 11-aside season. Bradley Roda worked hard on the left wing and was rewarded opening the score against Ashtead. Harry Pope playing only his second game in goal kept the reds in the game until what looked to be a good clearance rebounded off Ashteads forward hitting Pope only to find it's way in Redhill's net. The reds had plenty of chances to take the lead and ironically late in the second half the reds struck 20 yards out hitting Ashteads defence repeating the fate of the second goal finding it's way into Ashteads net.

Epsom & Ewell Premier Division – Cup Match 20/11/2011

Redhill Town U12s 4   Chessington Sports U12s 0

Redhill got back to winning ways as they stormed into the quarter-finals of the cup with victory over Chessington Sports.

With both goalkeepers and a striker out injured, Redhill started slowly but took the lead in the 24^th minute with a goal from Jack Tickner.

Redhill were more composed on the ball in the second half and extended their lead in the 41^st minute with a great counter-attack, the ball breaking from defence before some neat passing fed Tickner to power through and slot home.

Further goals from James Smart and Jacob Toney put the result beyond doubt, and sealed Redhill’s place in the last 8.

RTFC U15b 2-8 woodmansterne Hyde B

Redhill U15s B are on their third win in a row putting 8 goals away against Woodmansterne Hyde B.
The team only on their 3rd season together continue to go from strength to strength in the league sitting in joint 3rd in the hope to gain promotion.

Weekending 12-13th Novenber 11

Match reports for Redhill Town weekend 12-13^th Nov




The First team Report

Redhill 1st team faced Cheam Village Warriors in the cup. A very disappointing first half performance left town a goal down which looked unlikely to change as chance after chance scuttled away with poor finishing. This must have left the management wondering will they ever find the net with frustrations clearly to be seen by the players themselves. Then some twenty minutes into the second half Peter Hames took it upon himself determined the games pace was not set by Cheam made a well orchestrated run in the box only to be clipped, no hesitation, the ref pointing at the spot. Max Davies's penalty was executed well and the reds were back in the game. Either team could have taken the win at this point but the game was finally over after a goal mouth scramble, shot after shot attempt, rebounded out to Daniel Gutierrez who finished well. This was a game with tension and 'plenty' of Drama, the final whistle was not blown as tempers flared, the reds will be relieved make the the next round.

This was something I heard this weekend, whilst shooting one of the matches. A goal had just been scored and some players were blaming other. One player who had stood there and watched the ball go in was confronted by his team mate.

Player 1 says to player 2 “Why didnt u get it, you were closest . Player 2 replies because I'm a striker and strikers don't defend. I there I was thinking football was a team game.

RTFC U10A 3 – 0 Kingswood Terriers U10

Redhill TownU10A move up into third in the table with a convincing 3-0 win over Kingswood Terriers U10.

Luke Stevens and Joshua Jeffery totally terrorised the Kingswood full-backs with their superb dribbling skills and pace to flood their penalty box with dangerous crosses causing many close goal scoring chances. Zach Layne scored the first goal after 10 mins, with a driving solo run from half way to neatly slot it past the goalkeeper, to go in 1-0 up at half time.

The second half saw the goalkeeper, Adam Barber, show his confidence with some great saves coming off his line and some important decision-making to start some great moves from the defence. Joshua Jeffery scores the second goal early in the second half with a low powerful shot past the goalkeeper. Charlie Minter scored the final goal with a tap-in at the far post from a delightfully floated corner-kick from Zach Layne, to give Redhill Town an important 3-0 victory.

Saturday 12th November Epsom & Ewell Youth League Division 7

Old Coulsdon Colts 1-0 Redhill Town U10 B

Redhill Town B were narrowly defeated on a mud bath of a pitch last Saturday.

Coulsden Colts had the benefit of a slope in the first half but Redhill keeper Ben Payne was

Man of the Match with superb handling. With Toby and Reuben Newland defending well, Colts

were fortunate to score when a deflected shot left Payne with no chance.

Chances were at a premium but after the break and with the benefit of a downward slope, Redhill took the game to Coulsdon.

Despite the efforts of Gichini, Krisman and Kirupakaran, the Colts stood firm and held out for a narrow win.

U11s Report 11th November

RTFC U11 3 – 2 Bookham U11

Hat trick Hero Dale Wooster fired home three goals today to give Town U11s their first League win of the season. Town conceding two had several clear chances if not for the determination of Bookhams defence, but the reds dug deep despite the sticky surface and deserved all three points. Harry Pope, James Dansie, Nathan Denyer, Nathan Pederson, Sean Pasifull, Danny Pescud, Bradley Roda, Dale Wooster, William Poort, Joshua Farrungla ,Chris Seldon, Danny Capone

Epsom & Ewell Premier Division – League Match 13/11/2011

Redhill Town U12s  0  - Roundshaw Colts 5

Redhill paid the price for a poor first-half performance as they succumbed to league leaders Roundshaw.

Sustained early pressure from Roundshaw resulted in Redhill giving the ball away too often in midfield, and Roundshaw duly took the lead in the 9^th minute.  Five minutes later Roundshaw extended their lead after the ball broke luckily from a tackle and the lofted shot eluded Louis Tween in the Redhill goal.

Redhill then managed to keep Roundshaw at bay, creating a few chances of their own, before conceding a sucker-punch third goal right on the stroke of half-time.

Redhill came out a different team in the second half, putting in a lot more effort and were unlucky not to reap the rewards as several chances went begging.

Having literally camped in Roundshaw’s half, Redhill were caught on the break in the 47^th minute when another long-range effort eluded Tween, and the somewhat flattering scoreline was completed with virtually the last kick of the game as Roundshaw’s best player scored a good individual goal, going past several players before slotting home.

Redhill Town under 13's 6 - 0 Stoneleigh Athletic U13

Redhill Town started well and dominated the first 20 minutes of the first half with goals from Daniel Silva, Jack Penfold Caplin and Sam Watson, making a 3 to nil start, but Stoneleigh dug in and scored 2 very quick goals to go in at half time 3 to 2.
The second half saw the return of Tayla Payne from injury for Redhill Town shawing up the defence, 2 very well taken goals from Aaron Humphrey and a further goal from Prassoff Kirisbrane took Rehill town to 6 goals, but Stoneleigh Athletic pushed on and scored a further goal making the final score 6 to 3 to Redhill Town. Redhill Town u14 1 – 6 Wallington & Carlshalton

Redhill Town U 14's unlucky start to season continued on Sunday when they were beaten 6-1 by Wallington & Carshalton.

Redhill went one down in the first minute when they conceded a soft penalty, however they regained their composure and equalised through Owen Brown who burst through the defence and rifled the ball past the advancing keeper.

Just at the break of half time Wallington regained the lead to make it 2-1.

The start of the second half was an even event with Redhill missing numerous chances to equalise. However their bad luck continued when goal keeper Josh Stevens injured his shoulder only two weeks after returning from a lengthy
injury.

This lead to a reshuffle of positions, which involved Dylan Charman taking over goal duties.

The Reds continued to match their opponents and contested an even game, however the last 10 minutes saw them concede four goals which put paid to any chance of a fight back.

Although they are still looking for their first victory the Reds the score line does not reflect on what was a good performance up until the injury to their goal keeper.

They just need a  lucky break to get them on their way.

Weekending 5-6 th November

Back to normal this week. Most teams all playing.

Our First team in action at the ring, this is a double report.

 Saturday 5th November

The 1st team faced Old Plymouthians in the league and deserved all 3 points. The first half Town could not get out of first gear and were 1-0 down after some very slopping defending but after a much needed 'firm' half time team talk it seemed to fire the engine when 15 minutes in Reece Whitwell crossed to Fabio Dias who made no mistakes in putting the ball home. Town had plenty of chances to gain the lead and patience paid off when Paul Hammond started off a sequence of passes to Jack Caffyn, Peter Hames finally finding Max Davie who cut inside and struck a well executed hard & low shot pounding the back of Old Plymouthians net. New signings Callum Gibson and Nick Creighton did well to play their part in creating more chances but the game remained 2-1.

Saturday 29th October Report
RFTC Men short on squad numbers will have reason to feel disappointed with the score today. This was a game with plenty of chances to win points but after missing two penalties it would seem lady luck was on Rollers Athletics side that day, goal scorers of the day were Jack Caffyn & Kier Jobling leaving the final score Rollers 5 Town 3.

Redhill Town U9  2-5  Kempton Park U9   (Cup match Round 1)

The early kick off seemed to catch the Redhill U9’s asleep as Kempton Park dominated most of the first half. Redhill held out for ten minutes but a cross from the right hit the defender and rolled into the goal through the legs of the keeper. Soon after as Redhill failed to track back another cross was slid into the net for number 2. Redhill almost got back into the game when Marcio forced a great save out of the Kempton Park keeper. Kempton Park grabbed a third just before half time.

 In the second half after an early goal from Kempton Park which looped into the top corner from a long range shot, Redhill then suddenly decided to play some really good football. Lukas Fisher pulled a goal back when the keeper dropped the cross and Lukas found the net on the third attempt. Joshua Bashorun almost got another back as he ran through to another great through ball but the shot was deflected just wide off the defender. Kempton then hit another goal on the break as the Redhill defence were unable to clear their lines from another cross. The goal of the game was saved till last though as a short corner from Marcio was played to Joshua Bashorun who flicked the ball out to the edge of the penalty area for Lukas Fisher to rifle the ball home for his second of the match. Further chances fell to both Lukas Fisher and Joshua Bashorun but Kempton Park held out despite the pressure. A really good second half performance though from Redhill.

 

Redhill Town U10A  5-1 Ashtead Colts

Redhill Town took a fim grip on the game from the start, with some superb passing moves from defence to attack and great wing play and accurate crosses by Luke Stephens and Joshua Jeffery.Tom Hiscock played a superb game in defence in the first half, dealing with everything that was throw at him. Luke Stephens scored Redhill Town's first goal, then Joshua Jeffery scored two more quick goals to make it 3-0, but conceded a goal just before half-time to go in 3-1 up at half time.

The second half saw Kane Taylor and Tom Hiscock move into midfield, both showing great footwork and passing moves. Kane Taylor scored Redhill Town's fourth goal, after a great driving run from midfield to get on the end of a loose ball to smash it low pass the keeper. Haydn Puttick then moves into striker position, and after many close chances, eventually smashes his frst ever goal for Redhill Town,with a great power-driver pass the goalkeeper, to give Redhill Town a 5-1 victory.

Despite dominating for long periods, Redhill Town were knocked out of the League Cup in an enthralling game last Saturday.

Tarun Balaghee saw his shot hit the post but Redhill pressure finally paid off with Champton Gichini netting for his first goal of the season. The second half was a different affair as Caterham pushed forward looking for an equaliser. However, Redhill could have killed the game off with Keeran Kirupakaran guilty of missing a couple of guilt edged chances.

As Redhill ran out of steam, Caterham capitalised and late goals from Hall and a long range strike from Kelly gave the home side victory.

RTFC u11 Redhill Town1v12         Horsley FC U11A  Cupgame

Redhill Town did their best playing with only ten men, and against a team that are two divisions higher then themselves. Up till half time the score was 3-1, but as the second half moved forward the team struggled to keep the vistors out and the goals kept coming, leading to the 12- 1 loss

Epsom & Ewell Premier Division – League Match 06/11/2011

AFC Walcountians 3   Redhill Town U12s 5

Redhill were back to winning ways with a strong performance away at Walcountians.

Taking the lead in the 16^th minute with a goal from Jack Tickner, Redhill were pegged back by a Walcountians goal right on the stroke of half-time.

Redhill upped their game in the second half, and regained the lead soon after as Tickner powered towards goal before crossing to the far post for Tom Parker to tap in from close range.

5 minutes later Tickner dusted himself down to stroke home a penalty after being upended in the box, before Walcountians got one back.

Tickner then completed his hat-trick with a fortunate deflected shot which looped over the Walcountians keeper before netting his fourth, and Redhill’s fifth, late on.

Strong performances in midfield from James Smart and Ryan Stevens were the pinnacle of a good all-round team performance and a last-minute Walcountians consolation goal was never going to influence the result.

Redhill Town U15B 5   v        0Alexandra United ColtsU15 League game 

From the off Redhill town controlled the game and it’s pace. They were 3-0 up at half time. Raham Odjegba (2) , Rasoul Sharif (1).

The Second half continued in a similar way with a further two goals being scored. Aidan Creighton, Ceazar Oancea.  The middle field controlled most of the success, which help lead to the goals.

All in all a good performance by Town.

Matches for the weekend 29-30th October

As you can see very few matches played this week. Just the First team U15B, U13 and the U12 twelve, but here are some of the reports and pictures.

Epsom & Ewell Premier Division – League Match 30/10/2011

Having scored 10 goals in both of their previous matches, poor finishing in this game cost Redhill dear as they ended up losing a game they really should have won.

Dominating possession from the start, Redhill squandered numerous chances during the first half, which ended with the teams locked at 0-0. 

Redhill continued to take the game to Woodmansterne in the second half, with several attempts going agonisingly wide.  Totally against the run of play, Woodmansterne took the lead in the 35^th minute, when a shot from the edge of the box went in off the post.

A minute later Jack Tickner’s long-range effort cannoned back off the bar, but 10 minutes later Redhill finally found the back of the net.  The ball was cleared upfield to Tickner, whose shot from the edge of the box flashed into the roof of the net.

It looked as if there was only going to be one winner as Redhill pressed forward with attack after attack, whilst limiting Woodmansterne to a handful of chances at the other end, but bad luck ultimately conspired against Redhill as Woodmansterne snatched the winner with 3 minutes to go.

Redhill Town 9-0 North park rangers colts 

Fantastic clean sheet by Redhill Town's under 13's today, their goalkeeper only having to make one save all game goal scorers Prasoth Kirubakaran scored a fantastic 4 goals, Julian Ramsay scored 2 Daniel Silva also scored 2 and Aaronf Humphrey scoring 1, this means Redhill Town under 13's are lying in second place in the Epsom and Ewell division 2 league with 10 points and a game in hand. Man of the match was awarded to George Jenkins for some immaculate passing and some out standing tackling.

Buoyed by last week’s cup victory Redhill U12s hit 10 goals for the second week running, as they recorded their first league victory of the season.

Redhill raced into a 4-1 half-time lead with goals from Jacob Toney (3) and Tom Parker, and could have had more as they squandered numerous chances.

Caterham pulled a goal back at the start of the second half, but Redhill continued to dominate possession with Toney adding 2 more to his tally inside the first 7 minutes.

Further goals from Jack Tickner, Ryan Stevens and Louis Tween took Redhill’s tally to 9, before James Smart hit Redhill’s 10^th with a long-range free-kick in the dying seconds.

Epsom & Ewell Colts U9   2-1   Redhill Town U9

Epsom& Ewell league Div 2 League game

After a slow start to the game where Epsom & Ewell raced into a 2 goal lead Redhill can consider themselves a little unfortunate to lose this game. Despite the half time score of 2-0 it was a very even first half and Lukas Fisher forced a great save from the Epsom keeper.

 The second half was all Redhill and within 2 minutes of the restart Lukas Fisher had hit the post and Joshua Bashorun had a great chance with a 1 on 1 with the keeper but the shot was just wide. Redhill passed the ball around between the midfielders and created more chances and from one great move Lukas had a left foot shot roll just wide of the post. Late in the half a good move started by Shane Smith on the wing saw Lukas play the ball to Christopher Grey and Joshua Bashorun pulled a goal back for Redhill with a shot that seemed to squirm through the keepers hands into the back of the net. Ben Telfer had nothing of any note to deal with in the Redhill goal other than having to race out quickly to beat the Epsom striker to a through ball and clear his lines. As time ran out Redhill pressed forward again and a surging run from Joshua Bashorun took him clear on goal only for the last Epsom defender to pull him down on the edge of the penalty area. Lukas Fisher took the free-kick and floated it fractionally wide and this turned out to be the last kick of the game. On another day the score could have been very different.

Anglo Saxons u10   1-1 Redhill Town u10A

Epsom& Ewell league Div 4 League game

Redhill Town U10A shared the points with Anglo Saxons in a 1-1 draw.

            After a long journey to Middlesex and an early kick-off, the players looked tired and it was showed by a lack-lustered performance in the first half.  There was a huge mid-field battle in the first half, but few chances by either team and went in at half-time 0-0.

           After a bit of motivation and a change to a more attacking formation, the second half was a different story. Redhill Town defence, Joshua Bayode, Laimilija Gruodyte and Kane Taylor stepped up their game with some great tackling to soak up the pressure, and the goalkeeper, Adam Barber making some great saves, but eventually conceded a sloppy goal with 10 mins left in the game. Suddenly, after that wake-up call there were some delightful  passing moves down the left-wing by Charlie Minter and Hadyn Puttick to eventually set Luke Stevens to shoot a rocket into the top corner with 3 mins remaining, for the equaliser to make a final score of 1-1.

Epsom & Ewell Youth Under 10 Division Seven Saturday, 15th October 2011

Hearts of Teddlothian Cheetahs 3 Redhill Town B  1

Despite defeat, Redhill Under 10 B produced their most disciplined performance this season against a strong Hearts side.   

Redhill defended magnificently with John Neculai superb in his defensive midfield position, backed up strongly by Toby & Reuben Newland.  Goalkeeper Ben Payne was also in fine form with great handling but could do nothing to stop Hearts going 2-0 up.

Just before the break, Champton Gichini's through ball put top goal scorer Sam Krisman in the clear and he picked his spot well.

The second half was a very even affair before Hearts scored their third a minute from time.

Cup Match 16/10/2011

Redhill Town U12s 10    Epsom & Ewell Colts U12c 0

Redhill recorded a much needed morale-boosting first win of the season, beating Epsom & Ewell Colts 10-0 in the Cup.

Redhill were never in trouble, and went in at the break leading 5-0 with goals from Charlie Case-Green, Tom Parker (2), Ryan Stevens and Jack Tickner.

Redhill continued to dominate possession in the second half, laying siege to Epsom’s goal.  Further goals from Jacob Toney (2), James Smart, Tickner and Stevens resulted in four players seeking their hat-trick but it wasn’t to be.

At the other end, the occasional Epsom attack was dealt with efficiently as the Redhill defence held firm.

Redhill Town started the goal scoring first with the first goal being scored in the second minute by Julian Ramsay. Queen's park quickly levelled the score, and scored a further two spectacular goals before the half time whistle, both teams had worked hard and were glad of the break, the second half started with Redhill Town full of determination to remain in contention, Prasoth Kirubakaran took his chance this then meant Redhill Town were 2- 3, again Redhill town took control and Daniel Silva made Redhill Town 3- 3. Queen's Park pushed on again and made the score 4- 3, Sam Watson made the final score in full time 4- 4. extra time shouted the ref
Extra time started tentatively with both teams defending well, in the second half Queens Park took the lead with 5-4 Redhill Town's head's went down, suddenly a defensive mistake by Queens Park allowed Connor Beesley to make the final extra time score 5-5.
Penalties the ref screamed as he blew the final whistle, Redhill Town's penalty Takers were Jake Monk, Connor Beesley, Tom Mason , Daniel Silva and Julian Ramsay, a stunning show by man of the match and Redhill Town's Goalie Amman Mirza who saved 3 of the Queens Park penalties, each and every one of them a stunning save. Final score 8-5 to Redhill Town.

Fantastic show from 2 teams that are in different divisions.

 

Redhill U15s 0 V 4 Epsom Eagles U15s cup game.

Redhill Town U15s started well pressing high and looked to be dangerous with Eagles finding it difficult to get out of their half, Eagles took advantage with a momentary lapse in concentration opening the score. The reds had numerous chances but were unable to hit the target. This was a game of two halves and Eagles will be very happy with the final score 4-0 as it did not reflect on the game which was clearly matched by a team two divisions below them.
