Redhill Town FC Match report 14-150112

Redhill Town First team 3v 5 Roller Athletic

The Story as told in pictures with a bit of journalist Licence

Woodmansterne Hyde 5 Redhill Town U10B 1

Three late second half goals by League leaders Woodmansterne put a rather harsh scoreline on a spirited Redhill performance.
Against a home side with a 100% win record, Redhill matched their opponents in a superb first half. Reuben and Toby Newland, defended well with keeper Payne standing firm between the sticks. Redhill always looked dangerous on the break with Duffield, Krisman and Gichini posing a real threat.

Woodmansterne finally broke through the home defence to take the lead but when Duffield crossed from the left, Gichini got in front of his marker to slip the ball home.
After the break, Redhill came out confident but when the home side regained the lead with a superb long range strike, Redhill nearly levelled again when Gichini couldn't quite reach Duffields left wing cross with the goal gaping. As Redhill tired, the home side showed their strength with 3 late strikes but the visitors can hold their heads high.

Epsom & Ewell Premier Division – League Match 15/01/2012
Redhill Town U12s 0   AFC Walcountians 3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Despite some decent play, Redhill were unable to make their chances count and went down 3-0 in a game they really needed to win to escape the drop.

Walcountians took the lead in the 8th minute, after a missed challenge at the back allowed a clear shot on goal.  Redhill were playing some decent football, but the sticky pitch often led to misplaced passes, and Walcountians doubled their lead just before half-time after the ball went astray in midfield.

Redhill upped their game in the second half, but just couldn’t get the break their play deserved and Walcountians scored on the counter-attack, Louis Tween parrying a fierce shot, but unfortunately straight to the feet of an unmarked Walcountians player to tap in from close range.

Redhill continued to press for a goal, and 6 minutes from the end Charlie Case-Green’s effort looked goal-bound, but cannoned back off the bar.
