Weekend 8th Jan

Only the older teams played this weekend, and so unfortunately we don't have many reports.

The First team

The first team played at the ring in a cup match against Norton reserves, winning 7-6.

The game was hard fought, but in the end, Redhill Town came through.

Some of the images from the game.

Redhill Town U12 Girls   0   Kew Park Rangers U12 Girls   2

Redhill Town U12 Girls put in another brave performance against a very good Kew Park Rangers team. Kew had the early pressure and although Redhill defended well, Kew Park were awarded a penalty after about 8 minutes when Jenna Madan brought down the striker in a goalscoring position. The striker got up and hit an unstoppable penalty into the bottom corner. Afer 15 minutes a defensive mistake allowed the same player to put Kew Park 2-0 up from close range. Redhill Town came mighty close to pulling a goal back when Daniela Fisherova hit a shot which was at first blocked but the ball came back to Daniela and she hit a looping shot over the keeper and was so unlucky to see the ball bounce off the crossbar and over.

In the second half Isabella and Thea defended superbly and Jenna Madan in goal pulled off some great saves again to keep Kew Park Rangers out. Beth Britt played her best game so far and made some good runs down the right wing as Redhill began to put some pressure on Kew. Once again Redhill came mighty close to scoring when Beth got past the defender and played the ball to Hannah King and her shot beat the keeper but just missed the goal by millimetres. At the end Redhill pushed forward looking for a goal and a bit of a scramble in the Kew Park penalty area was finally cleared by the defence. The whole team played so well and deserved at least a goal and they are now giving some of the top sides in this league a really tough game.

Team : Jenna Madan (GK), Thea Sangster, Isabella Oancea, Ella Madsen, Eleanor Sabey, Daniela Fisherova, Beth Britt, Hannah King.
