Match report for last week in January

Match Reports
for Redhill town FC weekending 28-29th January

Redhill Town U10B 0 Hearts of Teddlothian Cheetahs 2

Two first half defensive lapses sent the Under 10B's to defeat at Brambletye last Saturday.

Following a 4-1 friendly victory last week, Redhill were full of confidence with the front three of Duffield, Krisman and Gichini causing problems for the visitors. Meanwhile Darren Smith on his home league debut was a power of strength in midfield.

The game flowed from end to end but the visitors took the lead when Dykes saw his powerful long range shot pushed up in the air by home keeper Payne, only to see the ball drop over the line and the referee signalled the goal.

Smith and Duffell worked tirelessly in midfield to get Redhill back into the game and although the home side came close on a number of occasions, it was the
visitors that sealed victory when Plastow took advantage of a mix-up between Payne and Toby Newland from a goal kick to score.

Redhill introduced three subs in the second half with a view to getting back into the game but the visitors held firm to take the points.

South Park U12  12-0   Redhill Town u12 Cup Match

The hard cold figures of this match, do not tell the full story. Unfortunately for this match the u12's were down to 10 men, which was very  hard against a well organised South Park.

The team tried hard and after the first few minutes got into the game and tried to push forward, but they were no match against a full squad from the opposition, and slowly the goals started to mount.

The Second half started well for Redhill Town and they really started to push forward, but against a strong defence they just couldn't put the ball in the back of the net and get those vital goals.

With what they were up against the team did a sterling job, and can move forward to the next match.

Sorry but don'y usually include many pix of my own son, but had to this time, with his attempt at a scissor kick.

Holland Sport u17 2-4 Redhill Town u17 Cup Match

Redhill Town U17s go marching on in to the semi finals of the League Cup with a hard fought victory over Holland Sport.
Redhill started brightly and were soon in front with a well taken goal from Oli Hazel. Redhill continued to press and created several good chances however, they were caught twice on the break and Holland Sport went in to half time with a 2 - 1 lead.
Redhill regrouped after half time and Connor Johnson coolly finished to bring the scores level. From then on it was all Redhill and Rob tester made it 3 - 2 with a shot from the edge of the penalty area. Holland Sport pushed forward looking for an equaliser. Redhill exploited the spaced with Shankar Suntoo running with the ball from his own half and seeing his shot deflected in to make the final score 4 - 2 and Redhill Town booking their place in the semi finals.

Due to the Snow, no report for this weekend. See you in a week or so.
