Match reports for 29-30th Sept 12

I apologise  there was no blog last week, but alas I was away, though where I was, was certainly warmer and less wet than here.

Anyway here are the reports I have for last weekend 29th-30th plus a report from the u18's in the Southern Youth midweek league. from last Thursday

Redhill Town 1st team v Frenches Athletic FC

Surrey cup round 1

Redhill Town 1sts faced a youthful and somewhat neat Frenches Atheletic FC who gave the more 'experienced' plenty to worry about.

The first half saw waves of attracts leaving it hard for the redlittledevils to get out of their half! Ainsley Sacky club skipper did well to clear off the line but injured himself in the process and so he was subbed for treatment, this unsettling spell resulted in an own goal whilst scrambling to clear.

Carlos Lourelo scored the equaliser but soon found themselves back trailing the game. Tom Scott's field entry gave the reds some extra creativity and headed home to bring the score back to equal and giving the reds a sniff of the game with extra time looming.

The first half of extra time Frenches 3-2 up but the reds kept their wave of attacks coming until Tom scott weaving through several flustered players crossed the ball which rebounded off the oppositions hand leaving the ref pointing at the penalty spot.

There was only one man who was gonna take this, Gaffa John Penalver stepping out of retirement due to player injuries who struck hard bottom right hand corner. So, penalties began and with John Mcbride in goal the reds confidence clear to see, the reds put all accept one of their penalties away, and to the dismay of Frenches John Mcbride saved two of their penalties bar one that was shot wide! Final score 3-3 Redhill Town won convincingly on penalties. MOM Tom Scott.

Redhill Town Match Report for 29th-30th September

Match Report Epsom and Ewell League
29th September 2012
Redhill Town U9 3 v 1 Hook Youth Blues U9

Redhill Town U9 continued their winning start to the season with a well fought 3-1 victory against a strong Hook Youth Blues U9’s team. The home team pressed hard from the whistle and were rewarded with good possession. Some excellent midfield passing between Sam Loughran and Charlie West allowed Stanley Cubbage to slot in an early goal. Hook Youth Blues’ reply was denied by Goalkeeper William Bungay whose efforts earned him Man of the Match.
After the break Hook Youth Blues pulled the score even with a well placed penalty but within a minute of the restart Redhill Town again took the initiative and a superb individual effort from Miles Greenfield put the home team in front. Solid defending from Harry Ryan and Harry Cole ensured that Hook Youth Blues were denied any chance to get back into the match and the result was sealed with a wonderful effort from George Wilcox who kept a cool head to poke home his first league goal for the team. The final few minutes saw a beautifully aimed 30yd shot from Harry Ryan rattle the crossbar leaving the final score at 3-1.

Redhill Town u18’s 1-4 Woking u18’s
Southern Youth Midweek Floodlit League cup
Redhill Town u18s youth drew Woking u18s youth in the southern youth midweek floodlit league cup last week and it would seem the reds a bit 'starry eyed' from the 'cardinals' gave them too much respect and conceded an early goal. 15 minutes in the reds dominated the game pressing high and were rewarded for their efforts from a corner kick delivered well from Bradley O'conor that ricocheted off several players finding its way to Nick Creighton on the 6 yard box who smashed it home.
This gave town the confidence to keep pressing and they were unlucky not to take the lead into the second half, but lapse of concentration and fitness against a well organised side resulted in the reds conceding three more goals leaving the score at the final whistle 4-1.

BA Youth 1-3 Redhill Town u18’s Surrey primary League. League match
Redhill Town U18s came from 1 down at half time to win 3-1 to BA Youth
The U18s missed a hat-full of chances in the first have and went in at half time trailing.
In the second half The u18s dominated play with goals from Elliott Steventon, Kieran Brown and Rob Tester were sufficient to seal the win.

U10 colts in action

Caterham Pumas 1 vs 8 Redhill Town U11

Having had only one pre season game to date where Redhill struggled to get a foothold in the game hopes for the Little Red Devils were not too high when only 7 players showed up for their 1st 9v9 league game, however any worries were soon put to bed against a full strength Pumas side who also had subs as D. Smith opened his account for the season scoring the first goal of the game. Redhill were flying and within minutes Smith added his second. Relentless in their efforts and with disregard for being the disadvantaged team Smith completed his hat-trick with a great strike. New addition V. Vytolik closed the half with his first goal after terrorising three Pumas defenders with skill on his way to scoring.
The second half saw Redhill field 8 players, still disadvantaged but strengthened for the additional player. Vytolik soon began as he ended the last half picking up the ball at the half way, skinning his marker and running through on goal to finish with his left. The game proceeded in the same vein with Vytolik adding a further two i similar fashion. Pumas seeked consolation scoring a penalty with an unluck B. Payne getting a hand to the strike. Finally J. Bayode completed the rout with a tidy finish celebrating in a Drogba-esque fashion; 8-1. Great start to the season.

Epsom & Ewell Youth League Division One - Old Coulsdon Colts U13s 6 Redhill Town U13s 2
Redhill U13s got their season off to a promising start, despite the result. With a team comprising mostly U12s playing up a year, Redhill went behind in the 2nd minute but then soaked up the Coulsdon pressure for quarter of an hour before conceding a further 3 goals in the space of 4 minutes.

Despite being 4-0 down, Redhill's heads didn't drop and they pulled a deserved goal back through Nathan Denyer 10 minutes before half-time.
Redhill raised their game in the second half, and 8 minutes in they reduced the deficit further as Charlie Case-Green's corner was headed onto the post by Robin Lewer, and Ollie Rose thumped home the rebound. Lifted by this second goal, Redhill matched Coulsdon for effort and created further chances which they were unable to convert. Redhill were awarded a rare indirect free-kick after the Coulsdon goalkeeper handled a back pass under pressure, but Harry Pope's shot just failed to cross the line after hitting several players in the Coulsdon goal-line wall. With man-of-the match Daniel Taylor pulling off a string of outstanding saves in the Redhill goal, it looked as if 4-2 would be the final score, until Coulsdon managed two late goals.

Redhill Town U14s 2v2 Queens park u14s

first match of the season for both teams. played out fairly by both teams ,an entertaining game queens goe 1-0 up redhill equalise through jake monk battling down the left with a fine solo goal, queens battle to go 2-1 up as the second half was near monk again on the scoresheet, with a low shot at the keepers near post it crept in. scores 2-2. the second half was won by redhill but we could not find a third good team performances all over the pitch but a sterling performance at the back from centre back kept them out and freed up attacks man of the match Aaron humphreys greatjob .well done team cheers bryn redhill u14s
FINAL SCORE 2-2 ONWARDS AN UPWARDS

Redhill Town U 15's 4-3 Roundshaw

Redhill Town U 15's started their new league campaign with a 4-3 win at home to Roundshaw.
The Reds opened the scoring with a stunning strike from Luke Charsley, the second goal coming just before half time from Owen Brown who passed two defenders before calmly slotting past the advancing keeper.
The start of the second half saw Redhill start slowly and gave away their two goal lead when a Roundshaw player pounced on a loose ball to give Lewis Markley in the Reds goal no chance.
The two goal advantage was restored when a through ball from James Besley found Owen Brown who complimented the pass by firing his shot pass the keeper.
Redhill increased their lead to 4-1 when a set piece from Adam Endsleigh found Ben Williams who calmly controlled the pass and rifled his shot into the back of the net.
The Reds may have thought that the game was well won as they continued to control the game with fine attacking football. However a succession of missed chances allowed Roundshaw to claw there way back into the game, with a long range free kick that resulted in a goal mouth scramble which the Reds failed to clear only to see the ball prodded in.
In the final minutes the Reds conceded a penalty which was duly converted to leave the score at 4-3.
On another day Redhill could have scored more but a solid performance ensured that they won their opening season's fixture.
Lewis Markley, Aaron Walker, Adam Endsleigh, Joley Lawrence, Harry Stoyle, James Besley, Rob Denyer, Ben Williams, Jack Elliott, Owen Brown, Luke Charsley.

RTFC Football report from 14.4.2012

The number of  matches are now declining as the season comes to the end, and  below are reports from some of the matches happening as well as pictures from a couple of the matches.

Redhill Town Match report 14-4-12

Saturday, April 14th 2012 Epsom & Ewell League Division 7

Redhill Town U10B
2 Old Coulsdon Colts B 3

Despite leading 2-1 during the second half, Redhill U10B fell to a 3-2 defeat in a highly entertaining game at Brambletye.
Both teams started well with Jamie Duffell highly energetic in central midfield, ably assisted by great wing play from Sam Krisman and Champton Gichini.
It was therefore a surprise when a defensive mix-up allowed the visitors to take an early lead.

Despite the setback, Redhill started played some of their best football of the season and top scorer Gichini equalised when he headed home Duffell's corner.
After the break, Redhill piled forward with Krisman, Duffell and Reuben Newland all going close but the pressure paid off when Gichini netted his second to put Town ahead.
The visitors piled forward and snatched two late goals to rob Redhill of at least a share of the points they so richly deserved.

Redhill U10B: Payne, T.Newland, R.Newland, Duffell, Krisman, Gichini, Kirupakaran.
Subs: Kirubakaran, Balaghee

Reigate Youth Hotspur u10 4-1 Redhill Town U10a

Redhill U10s A were very unlucky to go down 4-1 to Reigate Youth Hotspurs in what was a thrilling second half performance by the reds. Town had numerous shots on goal in the second half and could have easily have raced ahead if not for the heroic saves throughout the game from the Reigate keeper.

Reigate Youth Hotspur u11 6-1 Redhill Town u11

Redhill U11s yet again struggling to field a full team against Reigate Youth FC started out with 10 players, however they were not without their chances with no less than three attempts being saved off the line. It took till the second half and being 5 goals down for town to get out of first gear, this was certainly a game of two harves and now with the desire to keep the ball and a never say die attitude William Porte clawed one back, sadly it was not to be their day as Reigate notched up another in the last kick of the game through a lucky deflection leaving the score 6-1.

On Good Friday 2012 Redhill Town FC embarked on a football marathon at The Ring on Earlswood common.

During the day burgers and hotdogs were sold along with many drinks.

The eventual total raised was 809 pounds. So thanks to all involved.

The Last Quarter's update

This blog post will be updated

Men's team last match in March.

Town made a slow start to their league tie against Old Town on saturday, and were punished just 15 minutes in when a ball was fired accross the face of goal to an unmarked winger who greatfully tapped-in from close range. The goal seemed to perk Town up and they reacted well, with the new 3 man midfield of, Captain Jack Caffyn, Peter Hames and Lee Histed dominating the game from then on. Towns hard work and good pressing payed off as Tom Scott pounced on some sloppy defending to draw the game level. Town continued to press and With Nick Creightons continuous pressing just behind the striker, they won their first corner of the game. Caffyn swung the ball in toward the penalty spot, Scott rose the highest only to see his powerful header blocked, but the ball fell kindly to Ryan Spurr who made no mistake to rifle the ball into the top corner. Nick Creighton's high energy levels paid off once again as the young 16 year old midfielder forced an error at the back and calmy slid the ball accross goal to a composed Scott who tapped home to put Town ahead 3-1 at the break. Old Town FC came out fighting in the second half and after 20 minutes clawed themselves back into the game and brought the scores back to 3 a piece. This seemed to spur on RTFC and their 3 man midfield again started to dominate and after a number off passes, Caffyn, Hames and Histed managed to pick out Creighton, who beat two mean and tried a cheeky trick shot just inside the box, the shot was blocked but bounced clear to Centre back Sam Some to smash home the winner!

Good performance by town and another Vital 3 points in the bag.

Redhill Town FC Match report 14-150112

Woodmansterne Hyde 5 Redhill Town U10B 1

Three late second half goals by League leaders Woodmansterne put a rather harsh scoreline on a spirited Redhill performance.
Against a home side with a 100% win record, Redhill matched their opponents in a superb first half. Reuben and Toby Newland, defended well with keeper Payne standing firm between the sticks. Redhill always looked dangerous on the break with Duffield, Krisman and Gichini posing a real threat.

Woodmansterne finally broke through the home defence to take the lead but when Duffield crossed from the left, Gichini got in front of his marker to slip the ball home.
After the break, Redhill came out confident but when the home side regained the lead with a superb long range strike, Redhill nearly levelled again when Gichini couldn't quite reach Duffields left wing cross with the goal gaping. As Redhill tired, the home side showed their strength with 3 late strikes but the visitors can hold their heads high.

Redhill: Payne, T.Newland, R.Newland, Kirubakaran, Duffield, Krisman, Gichini. Sub: Kirupakaran

Epsom & Ewell Premier Division – League Match 15/01/2012
Redhill Town U12s 0   AFC Walcountians 3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Despite some decent play, Redhill were unable to make their chances count and went down 3-0 in a game they really needed to win to escape the drop.

Walcountians took the lead in the 8th minute, after a missed challenge at the back allowed a clear shot on goal.  Redhill were playing some decent football, but the sticky pitch often led to misplaced passes, and Walcountians doubled their lead just before half-time after the ball went astray in midfield.

Redhill upped their game in the second half, but just couldn’t get the break their play deserved and Walcountians scored on the counter-attack, Louis Tween parrying a fierce shot, but unfortunately straight to the feet of an unmarked Walcountians player to tap in from close range.

Redhill continued to press for a goal, and 6 minutes from the end Charlie Case-Green’s effort looked goal-bound, but cannoned back off the bar.

RTFC Match reports wkend 21-22 Jan 2012
RTFC U10 a 2-0 Kingswood Falcons b Cup match
Redhill Town U10A cruise through to the semi-finals of the cup after a convincing 2-0 win against Kingswood Falcons B.
Redhill Town U10A played a very safe first half, playing with three defenders to soak up any early pressure. Redhill Town had many close chances at goal from Charlie Minter and Haydn Puttick on the end of some brilliant passing moves. Just before half-time, Joshua Jeffery hits a rocket of a shot onto the crossbar and down into the goal to give Redhill Town a 1-0 lead at half-time.
The second half saw Redhill Town really turn up the gas, when Luke Stevens and Joshua Jeffery started to show their magic down the wings and delivering many superb crosses into the box. Zach Layne and Tom Hiscock showed some great footwork with some driving runs through the mid-field. Kane Taylor, Laimilija Gruodyte and Joshua Bayode had great games with some intelligent covering defensive tackles. The goalkeeper, Adam Barber had a superb game, saving everything that came at him and keeping another clean sheet.
Luke Stevens smashed in the second goal just before the end of the match,to give Redhill Town a well deserved 2-0 win over Kingswood Falcons and bok themselves a place in the semi-finals of the cup.
Player of the Match: Luke Stevens

Redhill Town U12 Girls   1   Ascot Diamonds U12 Girls 4
Once again the Redhill Town girls put in another big performance and but for the last 10 minutes would have pulled off the shock result of the season so far. Redhill started very brightly with Beth Britt having a shot which flew just inches wide of the post in the first minute, and some fine attacking play from Daniela Fisherova, Beth Britt  and Hannah King almost gave Redhill an early lead. Ascot hit back but were unable to get past Thea Sangster and Ella Madsen in defence although one long range shot almost caught out Jenna Madan in goal. The game was end to end but Ascot finally broke the deadlock after 16 minutes when the ball dropped kindly for the Ascot striker to side foot the ball past Jenna in goal. A free kick on the edge of the Redhill penalty area led to a bit of panic but Redhill survived and hit back themselves and with 5 minutes to half time another great run from Daniela got her past the defence and a good cross found Hannah King able to divert the ball into the net for her first goal of the season. Redhill battled on and Daniela managed to keep Redhill level after a corner deflected off Thea Sangster past Jenna but was stopped on the line by Daniela Fisherova and Redhill survived to half time for the first time this season on level terms.
The second half saw a lot of Ascot pressure but some fantastic defending from Thea and Ella, with some fine goalkeeping from Jenna helped keep Redhill level. Ascot almost took the lead from a goalmouth scramble but Redhill managed to get plenty of bodies in the way to block the shots and eventually Jenna got hold of the ball. Beth and Hannah did well to relieve the pressure and won Redhill a number of corners in the second half as Redhill looked for another goal. With ten minutes to go and the score still level, Ascot piled forward and after Thea cleared the ball from one attack, Redhill were unlucky to find the ball bounce off Ella Madsen and straight into the path of the Ascot striker who had the simple task to put the ball into the net. Within 2 minutes Ascot had added a third and after Daniela had to been taken off injured leaving Redhill with only 6 players, Ascot finished the job to make the score 4-1 to the visitors, and Redhill were left to wonder just what might have been if they could have just held out for another 10 minutes.

Epsom & Ewell Premier Division – League Match 22/01/2012
Epsom United 5  Redhill Town U12s 1
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Redhill failed to switch on from the start yet again, going 3-0 down inside the first 6 minutes.
In the 2nd minute, with the Redhill defence out of position, a long-range Epsom shot came down off the bar and crossed the line to give Epsom the lead and a minute later Epsom added a second when the Redhill defence was caught out of position.
Epsom’s third goal was somewhat fortunate, as a soft shot from the edge of the box took a nasty bobble to evade the diving Louis Tween.
Somewhat too late, Redhill then began to get their act together with some tidy passing football and got a goal back in the 10th minute when a great throughball split the Epsom defence, allowing Jack Tickner to power through and slot home.
Redhill continued to press forward, and in the 26th minute a Redhill corner fell to Jacob Toney at the far post, but his shot crashed back off the post, and Epsom broke to score their fourth . . . . 4-1 could so easily have been 3-2 at half-time.
Epsom scored their fifth 2 minutes into the second half, following a mix-up in the Redhill defence.  Ryan Stevens was kept busy in midfield in his last game for Redhill before emigrating to Australia, and the remainder of the game saw Redhill press forward without creating any clear-cut opportunities.

U17’s RTFC 3-1 Oxshott Royals
'Redhill U17 travelled away to high flying Oxshott Royals. However, it was Redhill who soared to victory playing some scintillating football.
From the start, Redhill were composed and dominated the game and it was no surprise when Ryan Gasson headed in to take the lead. Ryan Gasson, Elliott Steventon and Ben Wright were rock solid at the back. Redhill bossed the midfield with Tom Webber, Rob Tester and Davy Delton-Wright winning everything. Redhill kept up the pressure with Oli Hazel and Shankar Suntoo providing width on the wings. Rob Tester added a second before half time.
In the second half, Oxshott came more back in to the game and pulled one back and put Redhill under some pressure. Sam Elliott in goal was called on and made some terrific stops. Redhill weathered the storm and a superb free kick, worthy of the Premier League, by Tom Webb sealed the much deserved 3 - 1 victory for Redhill.'

Match Reports
for Redhill town FC weekending 28-29th January

Redhill Town U10B 0 Hearts of Teddlothian Cheetahs 2

Two first half defensive lapses sent the Under 10B's to defeat at Brambletye last Saturday.

Following a 4-1 friendly victory last week, Redhill were full of confidence with the front three of Duffield, Krisman and Gichini causing problems for the visitors. Meanwhile Darren Smith on his home league debut was a power of strength in midfield.

The game flowed from end to end but the visitors took the lead when Dykes saw his powerful long range shot pushed up in the air by home keeper Payne, only to see the ball drop over the line and the referee signalled the goal.

Smith and Duffell worked tirelessly in midfield to get Redhill back into the game and although the home side came close on a number of occasions, it was the visitors that sealed victory when Plastow took advantage of a mix-up between Payne and Toby Newland from a goal kick to score.

Redhill introduced three subs in the second half with a view to getting back into the game but the visitors held firm to take the points.

Redhill Town U17s go marching on in to the semi finals of the League Cup with a hard fought victory over Holland Sport.
Redhill started brightly and were soon in front with a well taken goal from Oli Hazel. Redhill continued to press and created several good chances however, they were caught twice on the break and Holland Sport went in to half time with a 2 - 1 lead.
Redhill regrouped after half time and Connor Johnson coolly finished to bring the scores level. From then on it was all Redhill and Rob tester made it 3 - 2 with a shot from the edge of the penalty area. Holland Sport pushed forward looking for an equaliser. Redhill exploited the spaced with Shankar Suntoo running with the ball from his own half and seeing his shot deflected in to make the final score 4 - 2 and Redhill Town booking their place in the semi finals.

Match reports for RTFC weekend 18/19th Feb

Redhill Town U10A  2 - 3  Stoneleigh Athletic B.
Redhill Town U10A played their first game since the cold weather and started slowly out of the blocks, which gave Stoneleigh Athletic the opportunity to score two early goals and one more just before half-time to go in 3-0 down at half time.
After that wake-up call and a change of tactics, it was definitely a game of two halfs. Redhill Town stepped up their game, when the goalkeeper, Adam Barber, made some unbelievable saves to keep his team in the game. Joshua Jeffery hit the bar from a long range shot and Tom Hiscock and Zach Layne made some dangerous runs on goal and eventually scored a goal each to make a final score of 3-2 and lose a hard fought battle.
Player of the Match: Adam Barber

RTFC U17 1-2 Ashtead Colts u17
Redhill Town U17’s and Ashtead Colts have enjoyed a number of close games over the past few seasons and this was no exception. Due to the number of recent postponements neither could find any rhythm in the first half which developed into a stalemate. Redhill’s two forward,s Ashley Maynard and Tom Webber, worked hard and they were unlucky not to score. A blistering shot from Matt Walsh looked certain to break the deadlock but the ball eventually pinged off the post. Shortly after half time Redhill made a few changes and were rewarded with a scrambled goal from Ashley. Ashtead also made some changes and soon put the Redhill backs under pressure. In a 5 minute spell Ashtead managed to score 2 goals and run away with the points.

RTFC Match Report for Weekending 25/26 Feb

Redhill u10 A  2- 1 Wolves B
Redhill Town U10A get an important 2-1 win against Wolves B.
The first half saw Redhill Town start with a very attackive formation to try and get an early lead, which actually paid off when Tom Hiscock runs through from midfield and strikes the ball into the net to give Redhill Town a 1-0 lead. Wolves B score an equaliser just before half-time to go in 1-1 at half-time.
The second half saw Redhill Town go full out for that winning goal, with some great midfield football from Kane Taylor, Tom Hiscock and Haydn Puttick, and eventually Haydn Puttick receives the ball in the penalty box, spins on a six-pence and hits a rocket of a shot into the top right of the goal, to give Redhill Town a well deserved winning goal to beat Wolves B 2-1.
Player of the Match: Haydn Puttick

Woodmansterne Hyde U12 2-0 Redhill U12
Redhill u12’s put in a sterling effort, but went down 2-0 away to Woodmansterne, after playing virtually the entire game with 10 men.

Redhill were the better team in the first half, some great passing creating several chances which they failed to convert. Going in level at half time. It took a lucky deflection 10 minutes into the second half to undo a resolute Redhill defence.

Woodmansterne’s second came from a defensive mistake just inside Redhill’s half, but despite this defeat, Redhill can be proud of their performance.

Caterham Pumas U17  3-4 Redhill Town U17
Redhill Town U17s roared back to winning ways with an impressive 4-3 victory at Caterham Pumas.
Redhill were quicly in to their stride confidently playing the ball around. Shankar Suntoo broke down the right and put in a great ball which was turned in for the opener. It was Suntoo again who broke again and drove his shot straight in to the bottomcorner of the goal to make it 2 nil. Caterham came back with a goal but it was Redhill who continued to press and Rob Tester was on hand to make it 3 - 1. A momentary lapse in concentration and a goal mouth scramble saw Caterham pull another back just on half time.
In the second half Redhill dominated play retaining possession for long period of time. Ashley Maynard put in a dangerous cross and Rob Tester has there again to volley home for 4 - 2. Sam Elliott in the Redhill goal made some impressive saves to keep Caterham at bay. However, he could do nothing when Caterham broke and scored their third. Caterham pushed forward in search of an equaliser but Redhill has enough about them to see the game out and record and impressive 4-3 victory.

NUTFIELD YOUTH U10B v REDHILL TOWN U10A - Cup match report.....Sat 3rd March

Redhill Town U10A book their place in the cup final after beating Nutfield Youth B 4-3 on penalties in the semi-final of the cup.
Redhill Town U10A saved their best performance till now to take this game by the horns from the off, with some great midfield play from Haydn Puttick, Joshua Jeffery and Tom Hiscock supplying the forwards with many great chances. Against the run of play Nutfield lobbed the keeper to take the lead 1-0, which only made Redhill Town step up the pressure even more with some close chances from Tom Hiscock and Charlie Minter and then a great equaliser from Zach Layne to go in 1-1 at half-time.
The second half saw Nutfield Youth take the lead 2-1 early in the second half. Redhill Town defence, Kane Taylor and Laimilija Gruodyte held strong with brilliant performances and decided to keep spreading the ball using the full width of the pitch to start tiring out the opposition to find new openings, which eventually came from a long kick from the goalkeeper, Adam Barber, to Zach Layne to run through and score another equaliser to make it 2-2 at full-time and went to extra-time.
The score stayed at 2-2 after extra-time and went to penalties. After 5 penalies each, it was still equal at 3-3, only due to a couple of superman saves from Adam Barber. It went to suuden death penalties, where Adam Barber pulled out his best save of the season to give Zach Layne the chance to score his penalty to book Redhill Town U10A a place in the cup final.
Player of the match: Laimilija Gruodyte

Epsom & Ewell Youth League - Division 7

Redhill Town U10B 1 Horsley FC 1

The Under 10B's produced one of their best displays of the season, but could not find the winning goal at Brambletye last Saturday.
Redhill attacked from the start and Jamie Duffell was instrumental in midfield. Champton Gichini had several opportunities to score but the visitors keeper was in fine form.
Sam Krisman also saw his strike from the edge of the area turned round the post. However, the pressure paid off when Gichini slotted the ball home to deservedly put Redhill ahead.

It was therefore a surprise when the visitors equalised from a corner, when Hayden Sears struck home past an unsighted Payne in the Town goal.

Redhill Town U10A 1-0 Anglo Saxons

Redhill Town U10A beat Anglo Saxons 1-0 in a close encounter at the top of the table.
Redhill Town had to soak up alot of early pressure which was easily dealt with by Joshua Bayode and Laimilija Gruodyte in defence. There were some great midfield tackling from Haydyn Puttick and Charlie Minter to keep the opposition at bay to go in 0-0 at half-time.
Redhill Town stepped up their game in the second half with some intelligent counter-attacking play down the right-wing from Kane Taylor supplying Joshua Jeffery, Tom Hiscock and Zach Layne with many close chances, and was eventually rewarded when Lamilija Gruodyte won the ball in mid-field and set Tom Hiscock with a shooting chance which he slots away with ease to give Redhill Town a1-0 lead.
Redhill Town then played a more defensive formation, which saw the goalkeeper, Adam Barber, make some more impressive and important saves to help hold onto a very important 1-0 victory over Anglo Saxons.

REIGATE YOUTH U10 1 REDHILL TOWN U10B 1

A superb second half header by Champton Gichini earned the U10B's a well deserved point at Priory Park last Saturday.

Reigate started the game in second place but Redhill took the game to the home side with Darren Smith and Jamie Duffell pulling the strings in midfield.
The boys in red and white carved out several opportunities but Gichini, Krisman and Smith all saw their efforts go narrowly wide, whilst Duffell also went close when his free kick curled just past the post.

Meanwhile at the other end, Ben Payne looked solid in the Town goal so it was somewhat of a surprise when the home side took the lead following a defensive lapse.
Despite the setback, Redhill kept up their work rate and were duly rewarded after the break with a tremendous goal. Jamie Duffell's right wing cross found the head of Gichini whose looping header beat the Reigate keeper.

Both teams had opportunities to win the match but Redhill were well worthy of a draw and can take great pride in their performance.
