RTFC Football report from 14.4.2012

The number of  matches are now declining as the season comes to the end, and  below are reports from some of the matches happening as well as pictures from a couple of the matches.

Redhill Town Match report 14-4-12

Saturday, April 14th 2012 Epsom & Ewell League Division 7

Redhill Town U10B
2 Old Coulsdon Colts B 3

Despite leading 2-1 during the second half, Redhill U10B fell to a 3-2 defeat in a highly entertaining game at Brambletye.
Both teams started well with Jamie Duffell highly energetic in central midfield, ably assisted by great wing play from Sam Krisman and Champton Gichini.
It was therefore a surprise when a defensive mix-up allowed the visitors to take an early lead.

Despite the setback, Redhill started played some of their best football of the season and top scorer Gichini equalised when he headed home Duffell's corner.
After the break, Redhill piled forward with Krisman, Duffell and Reuben Newland all going close but the pressure paid off when Gichini netted his second to put Town ahead.
The visitors piled forward and snatched two late goals to rob Redhill of at least a share of the points they so richly deserved.

Redhill U10B: Payne, T.Newland, R.Newland, Duffell, Krisman, Gichini, Kirupakaran.
Subs: Kirubakaran, Balaghee

Reigate Youth Hotspur u10 4-1 Redhill Town U10a

Redhill U10s A were very unlucky to go down 4-1 to Reigate Youth Hotspurs in what was a thrilling second half performance by the reds. Town had numerous shots on goal in the second half and could have easily have raced ahead if not for the heroic saves throughout the game from the Reigate keeper.

Reigate Youth Hotspur u11 6-1 Redhill Town u11

Redhill U11s yet again struggling to field a full team against Reigate Youth FC started out with 10 players, however they were not without their chances with no less than three attempts being saved off the line. It took till the second half and being 5 goals down for town to get out of first gear, this was certainly a game of two harves and now with the desire to keep the ball and a never say die attitude William Porte clawed one back, sadly it was not to be their day as Reigate notched up another in the last kick of the game through a lucky deflection leaving the score 6-1.
